Thank God That's Over. Til Next Year At Least!

I really should get off my butt this morning and go clearance shopping for Valentine's for next year. Yesterday my house looked like a pig sty. I wasn't around to clean for a majority of the day because I was out buying things and preparing for Alex's Classroom party and then the Brownie party we had for the girls last night. For the kid's Valentines, I bought the boys each Burger King Meals because they are in love with those Monster Trucks they are giving out and I bought Alex a cute little Hannah Montana shirt. Daddy got a nice polo and 3 Xbox games, I never found him a Nintendo Wii. :(

The weather started out in the 50's. I didn't take any jackets for the kids since it seemed like it was warming up. I'm so tired of carseats and fighting coats. We went into Walmart for a few things and by the time we came out, it had dropped down in the 30's! So because of the crappy weather I asked my Grandmother to come over and watch the kids so I could go to the school for the party. I made heart sugar cookies around 8 am and took decorations and different colored icing for the kids to do their own cookies. The kids enjoyed this a bit too much. My red sugar sprinkles disappeared in about 10 minutes. They dumped sugar all over their cookies The Wilton thing that Alex is using in the picture below distributes the sprinkles much slower. I atleast could bring some of that home. lol I came home to straighten up again and be back out the door at 6 for Brownies. I'd asked the girls to decorate a shoe box at home as a project and bring it for their Valentines. You could tell they went to alot of work perfecting their boxes. We played a few games, handed out Valentines and had some yummy cupcakes.
Here's some pics, the girls are putting Valentines in each other's boxes here.....
With their Valentine boxes.... Aren't they just the cutest??
Checking out their goodies from each other.....
If you read my other blog, you saw Dominic was unable to go to school yesterday. So I called the secretary asking her to make sure my daughter got Dominic's Valentine things so he wouldn't be left out when Alex brought her Valentine's home. I still am mad about the whole deal but Dominic's Sp. Ed teacher from EI called me yesterday and is going to ask them to make sure he's actually sick when he throws up, so we know if it's just something with SID setting him off. Usually if he has stomach flu, he's not running around playing and acting normal through the day. I guess I got out of one party for the day. Maybe I should look at it that way. lol I'm kidding, I really do love being able to help with parties making the day extra special for the kids.
