Monday Madness

I'm so glad this weekend is over. I sent the kids off to school this morning, running late as usual. I woke up at 5:00 with Damien and I'm sure that's what made me sleep in till 7. Miss Priss was so upset because she said her throat hurt which I know it's just from allergies and her breathing drying her throat out. She was only up for 15 minutes before getting on the bus. Talk about feeling like a pretty shitty mom. Sent her off to school stumbling out the door with tears in her eyes. Guess Sheri really should have called me as punishment this morning. Got Dom off ok since his bus doesn't usually arrive till 8 AM. I put him in this little green Italian dress shirt since he has pictures today. I hope they turn out good. He's
such a booger when getting pictures done that I haven't even attempted it in a year.

I was such a bitch this weekend. Don't know why except maybe because it was that time of the month. I know I feel like I'm the only one who does shit around here and this house is always a mess which makes me pretty pissy. I'm such a profectionist with laundry that I bitched about the way Dave did it, bitched about him not doing the chores around the house that I wanted done first (after getting alittle hysterical he wanted to help), and oh yeah we fought about Phoenix again. 3 more months ya'll, we may be divorced. He's now saying that we'll drive the 14 hours there which I say ok fine whatever but I'm not doing it in 1 day. I'll do it in 2-3 days because I'm not going to have our poor kids confined in the minivan watching hours upon hours of TV or video games for us to get there in 1 day. Ain't doin it. By the end it was a draw and we just said fuck it and shut up about the whole deal. I don't feel flying is still a good option for me. In the end, he'll probably go to this family reunion himself.

We've also been trying to figure out what to do about the house. I found
this house for sale in Haven, about a 20 minute drive from Wichita and 20 minutes from where we are in Hutch. It looks nice but the drawback is a very small yard (we have 1.5 acres) I am willing to move to this town though because it's small and will be a short drive to both places and Alex will be going to another small good school district. When I suggested this house he said if we're going to move, we may as well move to Wichita because shortening his drive 20 minutes isn't really worth it. Well if it's not worth it then we may as well stay here but then we're back to our only 1 bathroom problem. We started discussing adding on again. At this point we're thinking about taking the garage of 24 ft x24ft and making it into a master bedroom/bath with french doors onto the patio next to the hot tub. My dad thinks it's a great idea (everything goes through dad first) but he thinks it'll be too costly. First thing before we can consider any of this is we need some ideas on costs because we will also have to have a 2 car garage built first before we could do any work. If it costs $50K complete it all, we'd still be better off doing this than moving elsewhere because our house will be a 4 bd 2 bth on one level and have tons of land plus Alex can stay in her school. We owe $83K on the house and it's worth around $110K so getting a loan to do this work shouldn't be hard at all. I would love to do this ASAP but first I have to pay $5K more on that hot tub before we can do anything.

On Baby D news, he's crawling everywhere backwards but won't attempt forward. He's also going from laying down to sitting up to his knees real easy. He is pulling up now but can't get completely up. He's gonna start getting into everything pretty soon! He's also becoming a total clingy boy. He starts to jump around all mad if I pass him without picking him up and wants me ALL the time which is hard since I'm having so much pain in my right wrist. I've got to get to the Dr soon. My problem is daycare and no time.

I'm also a laundry perfectionist. My husband is willing to wash it and dry it, but he won't even attempt folding it. Which is fortunate because he would never do it the way I want it. So, I end up with laundry baskets full of unfolded wrinkled clothes which then have to be ironed. Sometimes it's easier to do it myself.....

We're looking forward to a 13 hour drive this summer to visit family. Eeek! I think a portable DVD player is a necessity when the tax return comes in. :)

I read an article on MSNBC that said a wife's sex drive is directly related to the condition of the house. Translation, is all the chores are done it is time to have some fun. It is so trite but so true. When the place looks good I feel great, but that is seldom the case so I try to hide from it. Motherhood is one job, housecleaning is another. Who has time to work two full-time jobs?

I am so NOT a laundry perfectionist. :) I would LOVE it if someone would do all the laundry for me. I don't even care how they do it, or if they occasionally ruin clothes by putting reds in with whites. I hate laundry.

Cool house that you posted about. The decision to move is always a tough one. I love the idea of converting the garage to a master suite.

Sad about Alex. LOL. We are all crappy parents some days. :)

Sabrina-

I had the same wrist problem. I bought a wrist brace at Walgreens and wore it day in and out for awhile and it fixed the problem.

We drive what is supposed to be an 8 hour drive to visit family all the time. It usually ends up taking abaout 10 with the kids though. Good luck on AZ!!

I get mad about laundry all the time too! I am glad to know I am not the only one! :)

LMAO I almost called you at 4am my time (6am for you) when Adam woke up ... perhaps next time I'll call ya!

OMG on the laundry! I once got upset with Shawn for not folding the towels (he'll take them out of the dryer, put his wet clothes in, then put the towels back in the dryer when he's done) So I got mad at him for not helping, BUT when he was finished folding them, I refolded them my way! I will also reload the dishwasher the way I like it too. Oh dear! I am so ANAL!

Don't worry about sending Alex to school - I'm sure in the years to come she'll forgive you for that (and probably have something else to hate you for LOL)

Hugs!
