The worst part for me is the whites. Socks. I can't stand pairing. Let's do math.
7 people X 7 days in a week = 49 pairs of socks.
49 pairs x 2 socks in a pair = 98 socks to be paired.
So the other day when Amie (my cousin) suggested paying .10 per pair of socks paired I thought it was worth a shot! So when Alex and Dom came home I asked and she jumped on it. The kid has like $250 in her piggy bank, I think she's saving for a car. lol One full basket of socks she made $3.50. We joked because if I was to pay myself (we were racing) I would have gotten $3.20. This seems to be a pretty good arrangement as we don't really do allowance too much around here. And she's all for it. Most importantly, I am not ashamed! lol

I think that is a GREAT idea!
Great idea!! I must try...
I can relate! I've gotten so terrible about socks that we now have the unofficial sock basket. When we need socks, we go dig through to find matching ones. Not a good system, but it seems to be all I can manage some days! Speaking of which, I should go fold socks.
Going from 4-5 kids really does seem to make a difference with the laundry, doesn't it?
You have too many white socks. lol. With my boys I buy them diffent styles so I know pretty quick who's the owner of each sock. I think Hanes did a different color strip on the base of the sock for each size which helps also.
I just caught up myself today, bedding tomorrow.
You need a sock box! I do this....I do a load or two, or three if I happen to skip a day, at a time. All the socks that I see obvious matches go together, all the rest go into the box until I (or the kids) can get to them. I put the box on top of the dryer. Easy access, and if someone is missing socks, they know where to go, and they are all contained :-) I don't mind doing or folding laundry, but I hate to put it away.
I gave up this year and threw away all my socks. I bought 12 identical black pairs (Target) - it makes matching a lot easier! Harder to do for kids when kids foot size changes more often tho.
