Wits End

I am in my basement this morning washing Dominic's bedding AGAIN. For the 4th time this week. I am really sad that the removal of his tonsils didn't get rid of the bedwetting like they told me it probably would. Well, it did for a few weeks and then it just came back. He has no idea or he'll wake up in the middle of it and run to the bathroom. Dave has been getting him up at 11 again and it's a 50/50 chance by 6:30 am that he's peed the bed again. He hasn't been in pull ups for a few years now so this has just been how it's been. I am so tired of it. We've tried the cutting out drinks after a certain time, nothing seems to work. Damien has NEVER wet his bed in atleast a year. Quite a difference!

Oh I am so sorry! Our nephew is 10 and still has this problem... It is more common then not it seems like....

I totally understand how you feel!! Jade is almost 7, and still wets the bed EVERY night! She wears Goodnights to bed, so at least I don't have to wash the sheets everyday, but it is still so frusterating!!

Can you go back to pull-ups then? Seems easier than washing sheets so much!

No he won't go back to pull ups. I do have an underjams sample I got in the mail but I can't get him to try it. Last night he went at 10 and was able to hold through the night. I don't get it! I'm thinking about trying an alarm clock and set it at midnight for him to go himself. Not sure if it will work but it's worth a try.

My BIL apparently wet the bed until he was about 12. Eventually my MIL went to a naturalist who suggested cutting out milk. Once he stopped drinking milk he never wet the bed again. It may be worth a try. Good luck!

My daughter was still wetting the bed at 7 years old. Her pediatrician suggested an electronic bedwetting alarm. My daughter was desperate and wanted to try it (I was leery -- it just seemed cruel), so we ordered an alarm from bedwettingstore.com , and it worked! She was dry through the night within a month (though it looks like that's unusual -- all the info we got said it usually takes 12 weeks or so).

Hope you're able to resolve things quickly -- it's so hard to keep washing sheets, or alternately to keep buying pull-ups.

I also heard the no milk idea. Seemed to work for a friend of mine and her son. Hope it gets better!

I think this is a more common "problem" than people admit. My 7 year old and 5 year old both need to be taken to the potty and usually, but not always - not enough to count on - they are dry. We still wear some cloth diapers at night. They are like pull ups. And if they don't pee, they wear them the next night. I've just decided to not stress. I know my kids are heavy sleepers. If they pee in bed, they don't wake at all.

these cloth diapers come in youth sizes - might be worth a try?
