Sabrina Wobbles but She Won't Fall Down

Last night while my daughter was enjoying flipping around, doing somersaults, and springboarding in gymnastics I decided to be brave and go into the Y's cardio center. I've had this Y membership now since September and all we've used it for is swimming but I'd planned on exercising while Alex was in gymnastics. I probably looked like the new kid because I had no idea what the heck I was doing. Everyone in there also seemed to know each other which was a bit ackward. I was scared to go in in the first place because I don't know how to work the machines. I went for a treadmill in the back row. LOL Jumped on. What the hell! There's like 20 buttons on this thing!! I have a $700 Proform and I have different programs and junk on it but this thing kept asking me questions. How much do you weigh? How fast do you want to go? I finally got the thing to start after 2 minutes (how embarrassing!) But it went into a warm up mode which was not what I was wanting to do then it sped up then slowed down. Finally after 5 minutes it shut off and said workout over! Huh?? So I started playing again and looking at buttons I see MANUAL I thought "this has got to be the button I want" sure enough it was! I did 30 minutes speed walking at 3.5MPH. I kept the incline at 0 but usually at home I have it at 9 like I'm climbing a mountain.

So as I'm treadin away I see these people coming in and going up to these notebook stations looking at them and looking at the machines. I'm thinking "Oh god, was I supposed to write down that I was on the thing?" I saw a few people write down something and go for different machines. Seriously this is the first time I've worked out in a gym. First off I have a Soloflex, Treadmill, and Weight Bench at home so I've had no need. Our Soloflex and weightbench are out of commission at the moment from when we moved Alex into the basement bedroom and now we have no room.

Finally after 30 minutes and probably beat red in the face, I jumped off to go watch Alex. I felt pretty good like "wow! I worked out in the gym. I'm cool!" As soon as I got home I was wobbly almost like I had spaghetti as legs. I know I haven't been on the treadmill for over a year and I'm pretty out of shape so hopefully getting back into it, those feelings will go away.

So what did I have as a snack while I was watching Nip/Tuck last night?? A big bowl of Sara Lee Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream and served up by my dear ol hubby. Bad me I know!
