Just a quick post. My mom called about 30 minutes ago and said that my uncle Larry has went really down hill in the past 12 hours. I guess it started this morning when his temp spiked to 104 and they've been icing him trying to get it down, then he quit breathing so they put a vent on him. She said they did an angiagram? Not sure what that is and injected die in the brain and found he has another leakage. He is brain dead now from lack of blood to his brain she said so most likely they'll be taking him off the vent very soon. I'm not sure if they'll wait till his daughter and son can get there, God I hope so. The roads are extremely icy we got 5 inches of snow today and he's in Wichita (45 minute drive)so it's not like they can just jump in their car and get there in a few minutes.
They're saying he has a brain infection most likely because Mom's says his head was totally opened up and was exposed. She said ever since he had the surgery he's been ripping everything off his head, taking his cath out, etc so they finally had to tie him down. This is a mess. I haven't even started to cry yet I'm just too stunned I think. This will be the first immediate family member I've lost in nearly 10 yrs. It's going to be so hard to go to this funeral but I know I have to. My mom was in hysterics on the phone and I was just to blown away to say anything. I really did think he was going to be ok. He is such a good guy and I can't imagine my aunt being alone. I just don't understand.
