Hi, My Name Is Booger.

Today was supposed to be a routine appointment. It didn't turn out that way. I decided to haul the 3 kiddos along with me since it was supposed to be just a pee in a cup, weight, blood pressure, heartbeat, and a few words from the Doc. Nurse wanted to do the heart rate first so she tried and tried for about 5 minutes. The whole time I kept thinking maybe I didn't hear the heartbeat, it was probably placenta and there's nothing there. Damien was so upset screaming on the floor beside the table. She sent my Dr in who tried for about 5 minutes as well. My stomach was getting so sore from the doppler being pressed into my gut, Damien was still upset. Finally the words I knew that were coming "we need to do an early sono, I'm sure everything his fine." Yeah sure, like I haven't heard THAT one before. After an agonizing 45 minute wait for the sono room to open up and my Mom arriving to watch my monkeys, I finally got in. She first did a normal sono and said she could see but it wasn't that clear so I just came right out and asked since I've dealt with this same sono tech for years "is there a heartbeat?" She said yes so then we did an internal, got the measurements and are at 12 wks 3 days on target. I saw him/her jump around for awhile, kick their feet around and move their arms. Thank freakin God. I went back to the waiting area, Damien screaming for me, gave Mom the pic, and Dave had just walked in the door from getting off work. I told him this one's name is Booger since it gave us a scare and of all days on Damien's Birthday. I made my appointment and he just stared and stared forever at the pic and then said "look it's got feet." lol

Maybe Damien will be an ultrsound tech because I sure didn't see any feet! I always have a hard time getting anything out of U/S pics. Seeing the baby move on the creen is where it's at. Glad to hear all is well!
