I Don't Know

D was off early yesterday, actually was home by noon, so I had a LONG day with him. Love him but I think it's best he's gone M-F 7-4. lol I asked him if he was paid since it was the 30th and on the 30th he gets his big check, the one with the commission and you could see the worried why look in his eyes. He has this perception that I blow all the money which I somewhat do but it's not like I'm buying tons of shit we don't need or anything. I simply pay the bills, buy grocceries, buy the normal Walmart stuff, pay for all of our eating out in a month, and gas. I'm not out getting my hair and nails done or buying CD's. Just normal things. Since I was on our online banking account, he ventured over to look. Oh brother. I hate when he does this because then he gets nosey. He decided to add up all of his checks that were deposited since January and then figure out about how much in bills we've paid in 6 months. Ummmm....there was a big off set. Bills were about $15,000 or so less then what had been deposited. But then I told him to figure I'd paid $5,000 on the hot tub in 3 months so that made a difference. Then he started getting bitchy because he thought about it and said "wait, I haven't even added in your daycare money" which is about $800 or more a month. Then comes "where's all the money going? We should have thousands of dollars in savings?" Dude, I don't know. I told him I'd start watching money better. I know we eat out at least 4 times a month and that's $120 then when I take the kids out I probably spend about $50 a month on that but I seriously could not tell you where the money goes. We probably spend about $50 or so on toys each month for the kids but that isn't going to add up to $10-15,000.

He was also blown away by the fact that I had put $270 in gas in the van in a month. $100 of that was from going to Colorado but the rest is from running around. And today I'm going to Wichita, a 45 minute drive, to look at houses. We have been running around more with no daycare kids around, that's true and I've been picking up Dominic from school so he doesn't have a hour and 20 minute bus ride home. He then told me from now on I need to stay home unless I truely need to go somewhere. Sure, I'll get right on top of that.

Sorry about D getting nosey about the money. Money does go and you do lose track of where. It is not like any of us give it away. All the little things that we buy for daily use add up and it is impossible to keep track of it all. I hope that the house hunting went well.

LOL-- boy oh boy do you sound like Brad and I!!
Hehehe...I NEVER let him look at the bank statements because then it ALWAYS turns into this...we REALLY need to start saving Kristi.....and for the most part he is right but like you...I DONT SPEND IT ON MYSELF!!

I think there is a money menehune (hawaiian leperachaun type thing ) that runs around stealing it all! Cause I have no idea...if you ever catch the little bugger let me know! I bet he has thousands of ours! LOL

That is SO funny only because the same thing happens in probably every household in america!

UGH same thing happens over here. Shawn will look on line and say "what did you buy at WalMart for $54?" It's such a pain in the ass! I always think I'm doing a good job and then the money's gone, just like magic

ditto what everyone else said! I often buy stuff at meijer cuz then he can't tell if it was groceries or not. We also have this awesome credit card that gives back 5% for groceries and gas. PS we eat out about 4x/week if it makes you feel any better (I hate cooking).
