Still in the Hospital

I have not been online since last Saturday and so I'm going to try typing with this new crappy IV line in on my wrist. It's the 7th one since Sunday. My arms are purple with bruises from all the abuse I've taken this week. I'm hoping to be out of here this weekend if all goes well and they can get me hydrated and breathing right. Basically I came in with a really bad back ache on the 14th. After a CT scan, chest Xray, sonogram and a sterile pee sample they found out my gall bladder was full of stones and one had irritated my pancreas causing pacreitis. I guess it's fairly common to have gall bladder problems when pregnant or after pregnancy so they weren't too shocked.

My liver enezymes and all that junk took forever to go down but finally by the 18th it was safe enough to operate although everything else was wrong. I just started a liquid diet today and before that hadn't ate since sunday morning when I had a bowl of Life Cereal. The surgery was like having a 2nd C section in a week and my body hurts so bad especially breathing. So there's the basics, and I'll post more when I can. This has really put me in a bad place and it's been hard. It''s almost like I had a baby and then had her taken away. She's been here the past week but I've been so weak and sick that I haven't touched her till tonight. My milk is totally gone so I'm hoping my OB will put me on Reglan. We'll see.

Oh God, Sabrina, you've been through a lot. I hope you continue to heal and are home soon. You must miss everyone so terribly much, especially the baby.

I was hospitalized for a week when my daughter was 2 months old and lost my milk completely due to all the physical trauma I went through, but I was able to relactate. It can certainly be done. I'd recommend reading up on it at Kellymom.

Sabrina, I am continueing to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that you get to go home soon. Make sure you get lots of rest though so you don't have any problems with your incisions healing. You don't need to have any more problems.

Oh honey! I'm so sorry you're going through all this. You've been in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you can rest and heal up soon.

Definitely talk to your OB. Also, see if she can prescribe/refer you to a lactation specialist.

Please know that we're thinking of you hoping for a quick recovery.

Try to keep your chin up sweetie!

Many hugs,

Lindsay
