Thoughts and Prayers

Please keep our dog Oscar in your thoughts and prayers as he is in the hospital right now. The past two weeks we've been having him escape from his dog pen and we keep fixing it and then he finds another way to break out. He screams and cries everytime I put him back in there and well he's so desperate that he tore a 6 inch gash by 4 inch gash of his skin off his leg where the knee would be. It's not bleeding but it's down to the muscle. I found him on my front porch this morning laying down and not doing too good. I took him to the on-call vet in town and he has had surgery and now it's a waiting game to see how this heals because there wasn't even enough skin to place over the knee and he'll have a circle left open. He didn't want to make it tight since the skin on the knee area in a dog needs some room to stretch We might be able to bring him home tomorrow. The vet will keep calling me to let me know how he does tonight and in the morning.

Dave is not happy because it's probably going to cost around $500. Sadly I have come to the realization that I just can't care for all 4 dogs. Oscar has fleas really bad that I just noticed today. I just can't get out there and take care of them like I should be because we have 4 kids that need cared for too. They have food and water daily but it's the flies, fleas, bathing, and walking that I'm lacking the ability to do. I knew 4 dogs would be a challenge but it was better to me to take them then to leave them as puppies at the pound to be euthanized. Not a very Happy Fourth of July here.
