"Girl You Have Lost Your Mind!"

A friend of mine came over yesterday to chat and pick of her Avon. We were talking about things when she saw some cute patterns stacked on the back of the couch which turned out to be cloth diapers. I told her that we had been thinking about switching to cloth diapers for some time but finally decided to act instead of think. Her mouth dropped, "girl you have lost your mind!!" "Have I?" I responded back. lol
The switch was mainly economical to us. Everyone knows I love to save money! We'll see if I can keep doing it. I think so. I bought for Damien, Mia and a few cloth pull ups for Dominic since he still wets the bed. I'll let you imagine how much 2 in diapers and 1 in nightly pull ups cost us.

You go girl! I love to save money as well and this seems like the one of the best ways, plus it is soooo earth friendly. :)

Keep us posted as to how it goes. :)

I am switching to cloth to save money as well :) I just placed my first order today. After doing research, I found out that in Honduras, the $18 case of Huggies I get here cost $37. And with three - almost two (thank God) - in diapers that is saving ALOT of money.

Yikes! The cost of Diapers is terrible! My very best friend just started too adn she loves it-- it helps if you are at home and not in daycare....

And they are so darn cute!

Yep, you are crazy, but if I had to do it again, I would be doing cloth too. I would HATE the extra laundry, but those diapers are so expensive!!!!! Zach is so close to being out of them that it doesn't make sense for me to change now!

I don't think I could ever do it. I used to babysit a little boy who was cloth diapers and it was a pain. Maybe I could get use to it but it would be really hard. I am just glad to be done with diapers all together!!

Where did you buy and what system did you choose? I am going to order the trial package from Jillian's Drawers in a few weeks. I want to know how it is working out so update us please!

I do the cloth thing.......we are using wonderoo's with Isaac and I love them. There is a great website called diaperswappers.com, but be careful it can be addicting! Mia is so cute, btw!

Jess- I placed my first order through Nicki's Diapers. I looked at that trial offer on Jillian's but decided not to. It seems like a good deal though. Basically I bought some pockets and the rest as AIO's. I can already tell I'm probably not going to like the pocket diapers. Everyone told me it's trial and error and you have to find what works for you and stuffing pocket diapers isn't going to work for me. LOL!!! I almost ordered some fitted but my first order was over $150 so I decided to stop. I'm probably ordering my 2nd batch tomorrow. lol I need to order some liners for Dominic's pull ups because it's not enough, he soaked through. :(

Katie- Thanks! I think the same of your boys. ;)

Amie- I have been on Diaper Swappers! lol I know this is kinda addictive isn't it! I didn't believe everyone!

Jennifer- Yikes! I didn't know that is why you were switching too! That is alot of money.

Christina- Doing daycare I would see it as a pain too. I'm surprised I never had anyone in them when I watched.

Crystal- we need to post some new money deals. lol

Rhonda- I do so much laundry anymore I don't think another load each day will phase me. lol

More power to ya....but after cleaning just a couple of raleigh's accidents in her training pants (a good sign she was NOT ready for those) I know it would not be for me. Although saving money would be pretty nice...I don't have the patience to do the clean up and laundry. Not to mention no time to even wash what Aiden dirties now. He's a messy kid with all his spit up.

Let us know how it goes!

Good for you!! I love cloth diapers (used them almost exclusively with Adeline), and will be using them again with the new baby. I like pocket diapers the best - fuzzi bunz are my favorite, but AIOs are definitely easy.

Holly- I bought some Happy Heiny's that are nice pockets. I bought some new Hybrid Dry Bee's that should be here next week. They are an AIO w/pocket so that'll be nice to try out!

Not much longer till your LO will be here!! How exciting!!!

I did it too... haven't gotten many thinking I'm crazy - yet! I love it though... How did you find stuff to make them? I'm stuck using gerber covers (uggh) and making could be a way of having some cuter ones w/ out all the money.. but I'm not sure how.
